Imagine knowing why you were sent on earth, from the very first day you got here.
Just think about it; imagine how you will feel when the moment your head pokes out of your mothers’ womb, you are vaguely aware of the mission you are to accomplish. That would be so cool, wouldn’t it?! I think it would – but that’s not life.
Living a purpose-driven life can only be difficult when you don’t know what your purpose in life is. A lot of people start freaking out when they think about their purpose. No one is expected to have it all figured out at once. There should be a general or little idea that sticks with you or resonates with you but if not, that’s fine – because the more you get to know God, the more He tells you about yourself
My True Love taught me the need to have a vision inspired life and a purpose behind your every action. There are times when people will not understand what you say and what you do because they do not know the bigger picture your life fits into, but that’s OK. I’m sure a lot of the time, Jesus’ disciples thought he was just going on about stuff, when He told them about his death and latter resurrection – Peter actually kind of rebuked Jesus, saying that will never happen… LOL! (in Matthew 16:22)
I have had a lot of people ask me “What are you doing with your life?” and “What are you doing for yourself?” Others ask, “When will you focus on doing something for you?” Again, know that it is OK for you to look stupid to others, when you are actually just following God’s instruction for your life, and doing what you were sent on earth to do. I have still not gotten the full picture of all that I am supposed to be doing here, but I know the first step at least, and I am taking it.
The concept of Jesus living in order to die is amazing. In His case, He knew he would have to die; there was no other MAJOR thing he had to do on earth. But dying wasn’t the bigger picture. The bigger picture was to fulfill God’s plan and glorify Him in this world and I’m sure that is what pushed Jesus through the hurt, pain, heartbreak and humiliation.
Similarly, we should all know and understand that there is a bigger picture for us all, in which we all fit. Knowing that will keep you looking forward to the amazing thing God is going to do next in your life. It will also keep you on your toes, always making sure you are subjecting yourself to God’s Will.
Once your vision and purpose are in tune with the plan of God, you’re on track.
It does not matter who else sees it, or how it “feels” like.
This Christmas, make it your desire to get on track in fulfilling your purpose on earth.
Jesus was born for a purpose – he fulfilled it.
