Looking Deeper…

Sometime last week, my colleague at work was having an issue with a word document she had been working on for about 30 or 40 minutes (could’ve been more). The content had suddenly disappeared from the word document and she couldn’t recover it.

In an attempt to help her, I clicked on the undo button tab, with the intention of going back to the specific moment when she lost all that she had typed. Long story short, I was unable to help her- but she got the job done, don’t worry 😊.

Thinking deeply through the above incident I began to wonder, “If there was a way to go back to moments where I made specific mistakes and wrong choices- would I want to do it?” Then I had a follow up question, “How different would my life be if I decided to go back to correct my mistakes?” Then a third question came up, “How would I figure out the exact moment when the first steps of that mistake were taken?”

I have no answers yet.

I don’t know if I will ever get these answers, but I know this:

The word of God teaches me that EVERYTHING works together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. For me, this means more than “what could have been.”

Many of us build up fantasies and sob stories around all the mistakes we have made, and what would have happened if we hadn’t made those mistakes. If God wanted us to dwell on what could have been, He would have encouraged us that SOME THINGS work together for good, for those who love God.

Loving God doesn’t necessarily mean you will always have a clean slate, or have everything figured out at every point in our lives. It means at every stage in your life, you are in awe of His goodness and acknowledging that He is working behind the scenes, with or without your foolishness.

Our foolishness can become the biggest blessing – God knows how to make things better especially where we don’t.

But if there was a way you could go back to one moment, to change everything or make everything better, the moment to go to is the moment you accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. That moment has nullified the potency of all dark moments, and made them irrelevant to your destiny.

His blood is greater.
